S. Ari Mushell, Esq.
Samuel Ari Mushell is a regulatory attorney with extensive experience in the financial services space where he focuses on regulatory issues related to financial derivatives and virtual currencies. Mr. Mushell's vast background includes work at an international investment bank, analyzing netting opinions from various international jurisdictions to determine netting capacity for a range of counter-parties, which include large hedge funds, foreign banks, and investment managers. He has also negotiated trade documentation on behalf of hedge fund clients with major international investment banks; trade documentation including ISDA, CSA, MCA, Futures, Cleared Derivatives, and PB; and drafted memoranda related to letters of credit in international transactions, negotiated large-scale swap trading agreements, and researched variation margin requirements and similar derivatives legislation. He is an avid writer and published a number of articles, including an article in the prestigious Banking Law Journal in July of 2015 discussing Crypto-currencies, and is an active crypto-currency evangelist.
In 2009, at the height of the financial crisis, Mr. Mushell interned for the United States House of Representatives Judiciary Committee on Commercial and Administrative Law. During that time, his charge included researching and drafting memoranda regarding the GM and Chrysler bankruptcies on behalf of Congressional Members. That memoranda was used at Congressional Hearings where Members of Congress were updated and questioned expert witnesses.
Mr. Mushell is also currently in the middle writing a novel that is a legal thriller. He is a history buff and follows financial markets.
